Wolff: 'He single-handedly prevented Max from scoring eight more points'

Valtteri Bottas scored a victory in Turkey for the first time in over a year. According to Toto Wolff, it is quite possible that it will not be his last win for Mercedes, and he underlines the important role his second driver plays in the battle for the championship.
The Mercedes team boss has nothing but praise for the Finn's performance and is confident that he can achieve another win for the team. "It might not be his last this season," the Austrian said in conversation with Motorsport.com.
Wolff thinks Bottas' win will play major role
He thinks Bottas' win could prove a major factor in the title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. "It could play a vital role in the constructors' championship, but also to help Lewis," Wolff continued. "Valtteri's performance alone prevented Max from scoring eight more points."
Wolff sees that his team now has a very strong package, but he refuses to say with 'absolute conviction' that Mercedes currently has the fastest car. "If not for the grid penalty I think we would have had a great chance to finish first and second and score eight more points," the Mercedes team boss concludes.
