Which is better; Formula 1 or IndyCar? Emerson Fittipaldi decisively chooses the latter. The two-time F1 champion and IndyCar champion sees more excitement in IndyCar than Formula One.

Father as coach causes problems

Living racing legend Fittipaldi talks to the IndyCar about motorsport and about his son's career. His first piece of advice comes too late for the Verstappen family's ears. Indeed, Fittipaldi says:

Get the kid a coach.

“It’s best when there’s a coach between (the child) and the dad. When dad coaches, that’s a problem.” About his own son, Fittipaldi said: "“He has a coach; I’m like the advisor. It's best that way."

IndyCar is better than F1

With McLaren team principal Zak Brown, Fittipaldi looked back on the past 2021 IndyCar season: “It was incredible, for sure. “I was talking to Zak, and I said what IndyCar is doing is fantastic and much more exciting to watch than any other form of racing."
