Horner impressed with Verstappen: 'What a way to go'

Christian Horner was pretty nervous during the final stage of the race and couldn't believe his luck when Max Verstappen crossed the line as the winner. According to the Red Bull team boss, Verstappen had a very big part in this victory.
Impressive Verstappen
Red Bull Racing went for a daring strategy with Verstappen in America. The team was the first to make an undercut to overtake Hamilton, but then again opted to retire the old hard tyres early. As a result, Verstappen kept his leading position, but things got very exciting at the end of the race.
"What an incredible victory and double podium for the team! It's our first GP win in the US since 2013 and what a way to do it. In the beginning of the race we had a really good pace on the mediums and Max was able to put pressure on Lewis, but we know he's so strong at the end of the race and he went long, giving Lewis an advantage at the end of the race'', Horner also praised Hamilton in Red Bull's press release.
Perez is in good form
''We went for the track position. Max held on and controlled the race superbly, especially his last stint on the hard tyre to leave enough to maintain his lead at the end," the Briton said. Sergio Perez had a difficult race and finished well behind the leading duo, but Horner is proud of his pupil.
''It was a difficult race for Checo without a drink system, but the way he drove was again fantastic and you can see his confidence is growing with his second podium in two races. He rode a phenomenal race and with his home race coming up he is finding his form again, which is crucial for us at this time of year. We have five more to go and we know that Mercedes will have an advantage in a few races and we will be strong in a few races, so the rest of the season will be an exciting one,'' Horner concluded.
