Hamilton contradicts Wolff: "That’s pretty strong use of words there"

There seems to have been some disagreement at Mercedes. According to Toto Wolff the team had to make adjustments to both cars because the bumpy tarmac of the Circuit of the Americas would damage them. According to Lewis Hamilton it was not that bad.
Wolff claimed that Mercedes lost a lot of speed after the changes were made. This was proven by the disappointing performance of the German team on Saturday, compared to a stronger Red Bull Racing. According to the team boss the changes were necessary to be able to finish the race at all. He even spoke of a possible 'massacre' in terms of damage to the cars on Sunday.
Hamilton disagrees with Wolff
Hamilton, however, disagrees with his team boss. "That’s pretty strong use of words there," he said in the post-race press conference. "There wasn’t a big problem. Right, I think it was a bumpy circuit, first of all, but we ended up going back to where we started the weekend so there was no problem."
The Mercedes driver says he's not too worried about Max Verstappen's accumulated lead in the championship just yet, but he does see a couple of strong circuits coming up for his rival in Mexico and Brazil. "They are two circuits that are strong for Red Bull so we just try to minimise how strong they can be compared to us and see if we can do a better job," Hamilton said.
