Valtteri Bottas hopes he can make it to the end of the Formula 1 season without any further grid penalties. He was penalised for the third time in Austin, but is confident he can finish the season with the remaining engines at his disposal.

According to the Finn, Mercedes has not found any problems with the two engines left. "I really hope we're done for now," Bottas said according to Motorsport.com. "Both engines in my engine pool seem to be fine. We haven't found any problems, so our fingers are crossed that I can now continue to the end without penalties."

Bottas is done with grid penalties

Due to the many engine changes and additional grid penalties, Bottas is not always able to optimally play his role as second driver. "If you are put back five places in an exciting battle for the championship, your race is really compromised," he explained.

"I think it was just a matter of bad luck. Before you put the engine in it has passed all the tests and reliability checks, so in theory it should be fine. I haven't had luck on my side, we've had more breakdowns and just bad luck. But we really hope that we have solved everything now", concludes the Mercedes driver.
