Mick Schumacher made his Formula 1 debut this season with the Haas team. The young German couldn't go further than 12 place during the Hungarian Grand Prix, but he is still proud of what the team is currently achieving.

Focus at Haas on 2022

Even before Schumacher made his debut at Haas, it was clear that there would be little glory to be had at the American team. All resources during the season would be focused on developing the car for 2022. The team is last in the World Constructors Championship with zero points.

Nevertheless the son of seven times world champion Michael Schumacher occasionally shows good results with the Haas. In France and Turkey he managed to reach Q2 on his own. In the Haas a great achievement. He has also been able to beat his team mate Nikita Mazepin in both qualifying and races all season.

Schumacher sees change

The Haas driver sees positive changes despite the car's lack of development. "I see us becoming more competitive, " says the German at Speedweek.com. "We are now at the point where we almost get angry if we don't get into Q2. We didn't do that in Austin, but we weren't far off either and that gives confidence for the coming races."

"I think we can be proud of what we are doing with our resources," said Schumacher who is looking positively at next season. "We want to be fast enough next year to be in the top 15 regularly and hopefully in the top ten occasionally."
