Hamilton thinks Verstappen is under pressure: 'I know what it is'

Lewis Hamilton has expressed his doubts about statements of Max Verstappen prior to the Grand Prix of Mexico. In addition, the Briton wonders to what extent the Dutchman can handle the pressure of his first world title.
Verstappen and Hamilton will be fighting for the world title this year. Hamilton is no stranger to that, having already won seven world titles, but for Verstappen this will be his first title fight in Formula 1. Although Verstappen remains down-to-earth and says this is not his first championship fight, Hamilton thinks it is a different matter.
Pressure on Verstappen
''Max hasn't won a championship in a very long time. I know what it is like to have to fight for your first world title. I know that pressure. So I don't expect anything different with him, because he's still very young,'' Hamilton said according Motorsport-Magazin.com at the press conference. Despite this remark Hamilton insists on mutual respect.
''I've been here for quite some time and this is not my first fight. Respect should always be the focus of everything. There have been things said that are not good for little kids. I try to stay calm and respectful towards my opponent, but I'm not going to say bad things about him,'' the Mercedes driver said.
