Hamilton struggled throughout FP2 as he had issues with the balance of the car but insists that the team is still pushing. Whilst Mercedes have had the edge in terms of our right pace recently, the conditions in Mexico have suited Red Bull traditionally and that seemed to come to the fore today.

"It was quite a good day. Of course, always trying to improve the car. Learn to make it better. In FP1 the track was very dirty so FP2 was a bit nicer." Hamilton told Sky Sports

"The car is working well, but there are still things to look at. Pretty Good. It's always difficult to tell. We are never happy we always try to improve. We have a good feeling but tomorrow we need to be there. It's a positive start to the weekend", he added.

So it's all down to Mercedes tomorrow to find an edge and try and catch up with the Red Bulls but with the performance that Verstappen is showing, will it be too much to ask?
