Marko remaining cautious: 'It's still possible'

Max Verstappen hopes to increase his lead over Lewis Hamiton in the World Championship this weekend. The Dutchman is the favorite for victory in Mexico, but according to Helmut Marko there is danger.
Verstappen lived up to his role as favorite during the first two free practices of the Mexican Grand Prix . Although he had to settle for third place in the first session, a few hours later he managed to stay ahead of Mercedes and set the fastest time.
All indications are that Red Bull Racing are in for a good weekend, but Marko is not ready to go that far. The team advisor knows better than anyone that wins and losses are close. "A retirement, an accident in the first corner, a bad pit stop or a poorly timed safety car can still put a stop to us," he told Auto, Motor und Sport .
Possible grid penalty for Hamilton
Several media outlets reported that Mercedes are considering a grid penalty for Hamilton this weekend. The British driver's car would need a new combustion engine, which would put him ten places back on the starting grid. For the time being the German racing team has not confirmed the news.
