One seat left on the grid: who will be Bottas' teammate in 2022?

Alfa Romeo expect the second driver for 2022 to be announced in the week after the Brazilian Grand Prix. With the Andretti deal falling through, the choice has been made a little easier for the Swiss team.
Alfa Romeo expects decision in coming days
Alfa Romeo are the only team that has not yet confirmed both seats, but that looks set to change soon. "We will take a decision now that we are a little bit less in the spotlight for different reasons. We'll take a decision in the next couple of days, probably after Brazil," team boss Frederic Vasseur is quoted as saying by Motorsport. com .
"We have to stay calm with this. It's an important choice. It's not an easy one. We'll take a decision soon and you will be informed as soon as the decision will be made," continued the French team boss.
Alongside current driver Antonio Giovinazzi, Alpine juniors Guanyu Zhou and Oscar Piastri have a serious chance of winning the last seat on the grid.
Stability important, but not the only thing that counts
Although Zhou seems to have the best chance, partly due to his financial backing, Vasseur would also welcome a little stability. Therefore, with the departure of Kimi Raikkonen and Valtteri Bottas as his replacement, Giovinazzi may still hope to keep his seat. "It's true that it's [driver stability] a factor into the decision, but it's not the only one," concluded Vasseur.
