'World title for Verstappen could be a good reset for Hamilton'

David Coulthard thinks it will be good for Formula 1 and for Lewis Hamilton if Max Verstappen takes the world title in 2021. It would give the sport a new winner at last and provide extra motivation for Hamilton.
Good for Formula 1
In 2021, it will finally be exciting again in the battle for the world title. Between 2014 and 2020, the world title was always won by a driver from Mercedes and six of the seven titles were won by Hamilton. As a fan of the sport, Coulthard hopes it remains exciting until the last race.
''Both of them deserve it, so this isn’t a question of just one deserving it more or does one have a better car. They are both exceptional athletes at the top of their game, two different parts of their careers,'' the former Formula One driver said to Talksport.com.
Reset for Hamilton
''I think Max winning the Championship would be better for the sport. It would be a good little reset for Lewis as well to keep his motivation. He always says the eighth title doesn’t change anything for him and it certainly wouldn’t make his legacy any better.''
''I think this is going to the wire. This is going to ebb and flow. There’s a feeling that Lewis really needs to deliver this weekend. It is a circuit Max has been exceptional at and Red Bull have done well at in the past. I think it’s going to Abu Dhabi, I hope it goes to Abu Dhabi'', concludes the Scot.
