Szafnauer doesn't rule out transfer to Alpine: 'Then I was in Vegas'

Otmar Szafnauer did not dare to say with any certainty during Friday's press conference that he will be staying with Aston Martin. The team boss didn't understand where the rumours about his impending departure to Alpine came from, but doesn't elaborate on them.
Szafnauer has been the team boss of Aston Martin for years (Force India and Racing Point in the past), but was linked with a move to Alpine this week. The French team would be working on a reorganization and Szafnauer would be the ideal man to shape this project. The Romanian born driver could not deny this.
Szafnauer does not exclude a move to Alpine
''I've been at the team for 12 years, I have no intention of leaving. I love this team. Most of the senior managers, especially through Racing Point, the senior leadership team was recruited and put there by myself, and I have no intentions of leaving them. I've been loyal to this team. I've had many, many offers in the 12 years that I've been working for this team, especially in the days of the bankruptcy and insolvency,'' Szafnauer said according to Autosport.com.
Szafnauer was asked during the press conference if he could rule out going to Alpine, but Szafnauer refused to do so. Thus leaving room for rumors: ''I learned a long, long time ago that predicting the future is an impossibility. And if I could do that, I would be in Vegas now'', concludes the Aston Martin team boss.
