The race direction haven't yet made a decision about Lewis Hamilton's rear wing. The FIA will therefore not be releasing any news before tomorrow morning.

Hamilton took first place during the qualifying session of the Brazilian Grand Prix, but afterwards the Brit and his team had to answer to the race officials. According to Red Bull Racing and others Mercedes violated the DRS, with which it would not act according to the rules.

Around 22:15 the German team was given the opportunity to tell the race committee what had happened. Over an hour later they came out again and it was wait and see when the final decision would be made about any potential penalty. However, it appears it will now be Saturday morning at the earliest that a decision will be made.

Grid penalty for Hamilton

The Brit has to move back five places on the grid on Sunday due to a change in his combustion engine. This means that Verstappen has the best chance to start the race from the front of the grid.
