Valtteri Bottas started from pole position at Interlagos but played a supporting role during the race. He was overtaken by both Red Bulls at the start and his main act during the race was to let teammate Hamilton pass him.
"The start was quite tricky. I am disappointed with the start and the first lap. I tried but afterwards, the pace was quite okay. We could have done one-stop easily but in the end we took a two-stop," he said.

He then goes on to talk about the speed that was not only in the Mercedes today but also in his teammate. "Lewis was really very fast today," says the Finn who passed Hamilton at the start of the race.
He then managed to get another podium out of the fire by taking advantage of a virtual safety car with which he managed to overtake Sergio Perez via a pit stop. "The VSC was in a good place for once so I was happy with that," he added.
