The number of COVID-19 contamination is increasing in several countries. Christian Horner and Sergio Perez stress that it is important to continue to follow the rules during the race weekends. All teams will have to follow the protocols.

"In Europe, the numbers are rising", says Red Bull team boss Horner on the German branch of Motorsport.com. "We must not become negligent with the protocols that are in place. It's great that there are fans at the races again. Austin was the first race that felt normal, but we have to strictly follow our protocols as a team and we do."

Keep as much distance as possible

An infection for Lewis Hamilton or Max Verstappen could have big consequences in the title fight. One of the drivers could miss a race and lose the championship. Perez knows what it is like to miss a race because of the coronavirus. Last season, the driver dropped out due to infection.

"We have already been in contact with a lot of fans in our sport", Perez adds. "Just look at the podium in Mexico. I just try to solve it by keeping as much distance as possible in those situations. That's all you can do. Except stay home 24 hours a day."
