One can hear how a virtual lap is completed, presumably at the Bahrain International Circuit. That is where the winter test will take place in just under a month's time ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix. The test days are scheduled from 23 to 25 February, a week before the first F1 race of the year. Alpine will present the new car, the A523, on 16 February in London.

At Alpine, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly get to show their worth in the coming season. Gasly will take over the seat from Fernando Alonso, who is leaving for Aston Martin. Relations between Ocon and Gasly, which have cooled in the past, are being watched with excitement. However, both drivers insist that they have put those days long behind them.
