Verstappen passes key test with great ease
Not once did Max Verstappen fail at a Grand Prix in 2023. But Formula 1 is a sport where accidents are in a small corner. It can just happen that a driver has to scramble out of his car in no time because of a fire or other calamity, for example. The FIA has prescribed that this must be possible in a maximum of seven seconds in an emergency.
Before drivers can take part in a Grand Prix, they must demonstrate that they can indeed exit their vehicle within the set time limit. In the run-up to the season, Max Verstappen practised getting out of the RB20 quickly. Red Bull Racing shared footage of this on Instagram.
Verstappen passes test
Good news for all his fans: Verstappen managed to get out of his car within seven seconds! Although the Dutchman will no doubt hope that he will not have to get out of his car quickly once in 2024 either, and will only have to do so after the end of a Grand Prix in - as the Americans nicely say - victory lane.
