WATCH: Tyre takes over racing line in weird incident at Suzuka
This weekend, the Super Formula series enters its final weekend. In Suzuka, where Formula One's Japanese Grand Prix has been hosted continuously for the third time since the 2009 season, a weird incident took place. Watch the footage below!
Two Super Formula Grands Prix take place this weekend in Suzuka as the season in the competition is about to come to an end. There, on two occasions, the pit crew were not able to fit all for tyres properly.
During the second one, as Hibiki Taira's #19 car (previously driven by Theo Pourchaire and Nyck de Vries this season) left the pit lane, the rear right tyre jumped off his car, and entered the track. Fortunately, the two drivers behind him could avoid the tyre, as it rolled through the racing line. As a result, the safety car was called out.
Race 1 in Suzuka was eventually won by Kakunoshin Ohta. Former F1 driver Kamui Kobayashi finished in P14.
