F1 through the decade: Most points scored shows Hamilton and Vettel battle
The 2010s are coming to an end and with that brings reflection on the decade as a whole. Formula 1 is no different. This video below shows an accumulation of points scored by the drivers in the last decade and it highlights the story of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.
Hamilton and Vettel battle for driver of the decade
In his Aston Martin Red Bull Racing days, Vettel led the way. He had a clear head start on his rival Hamilton at the start of the decade having won the first four F1 world championships of the decade. But Hamilton made the move of his career and found himself in a Mercedes car. The German team ruled through the second half of the decade and Hamilton clawed back the deficit.
Kamui Kobayashi, Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil round out the top 25. All three of those drivers had more or less completed their Formula 1 career at the end of the 2014 season. Seeing them inside the 25 further highlights the dominance the top teams have had since the turbo-hybrid era was introduced.
