Quarrel between Ferrari and Vettel runs high: "I just asked you"
Sebastian Vettel's relationship with the Ferrari team has hit a new low. After cursing his team over the radio last week because of the strategy, there was again a lot of dissatisfaction with the German this weekend.
Vettel had to settle for eleventh place during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix on Saturday, but managed to climb considerably during the race. A daring strategy by Ferrari to get Vettel to stop just once seems a success, but when you take Vettel's radio it seems more like a coincidence.
Vettel argues again
Earlier Vettel can be heard asking what pace is expected of him on the current tyres. The team indicates to push for three laps, after which the team then returns to him. "Can you get to the end?", His engineer asks, sparking anger at Vettel. "I just f**king asking you that and now I've been pushing for three laps," he said from the cockpit.
It indicates the clear tensions within the team, but is followed by orders. Vettel sees that he has nothing to lose and assigns his engineer a task. "I have a job for you. Just find out what I have to drive to make it through to the end." When the engineer returns with the required lap time, Vettel lets him know he can make it and eventually steers his car to a good seventh place.
