Sergio Perez has been forced to retire from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Mexican retired in his last race for Racing Point with a suspected engine problem.
This initially brought out the virtual safety car, but due to the annoying position where Perez's car stopped, the full safety car was necerssary. For the drivers at the front of the field, it was a chance to make a first pit stop. Max Verstappen , Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton all came in for new tyres.
