Formula 1 lost an icon on Sunday. Sir Frank Williams, founder of the historic Williams F1 team, passed away at the age of 79 after being hospitalized. From all corners of the world of Formula 1 the messages of support are coming in.
Shocked reactions on Sir Frank Williams death
The news is passing through the Formula One world like a shockwave. Many had the honour of working with the iconic Williams during his long presence in the sport. Others did not know him personally, but the news is hitting everyone hard.
"He was a true giant in our sport, overcoming life's toughest challenges and competing daily to win, both on and off the track. We have lost a beloved and respected member of the F1 family, and he will be greatly missed," wrote Formula One boss Stefano Domenicali.
