Wolff: "Only if we can do that will we have a chance of winning the title"

Mercedes started the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix very well. The German team set the fastest lap on two occasions with Lewis Hamilton giving a clear signal to Red Bull Racing. According to Toto Wolff Friday's performance doesn't mean anything.
The Austrian team boss has been around Formula 1 long enough that the times of the first two free practice sessions tell little about the rest of the weekend. Speaking to Speedweek.com, he says that Mercedes are gearing up for a challenging weekend. Wolff is however keen on performing well with Mercedes.
"It's about investing the work needed to have the best possible car on the track on Saturday," he explained. "It's very easy for us because we're eight points behind. We just have to perform at our best every weekend. Only if we can do that will we have a chance of winning the title."
Mercedes need to win two more races
Wolff realises the pressure is on his team. "Everything is still possible, but on paper we are behind. I come from the financial world and it's mainly about chances. And from a purely mathematical point of view we are at a disadvantage. To sum up, we have to win the last two races, it's as simple as that."
