Esteban Ocon has taken the lead in the qualifying duel at Alpine. The Frenchman was half a second faster than his teammate and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso. Ocon took the lead to 11-10 in his favour. Max Verstappen, despite his crash, made it 19-2.

Sergio Perez was again unable to compete and will have to start the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix from P5. The Mexican will see Charles Leclerc on the second row of the grid alongside Verstappen. The Ferrari driver had a big crash in FP2, but despite that, he was well ahead of Carlos Sainz. The driver from Madrid finished in P15.

Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, Sebastian Vettel, Antonio Giovinazzi, Mick Schumacher and George Russell extend their already huge lead again. Pierre Gasly is the only driver of 2021 still without a loss. The Frenchman was not beaten in the AlphaTauri on Saturday by this season's debutant Yuki Tsunoda.
