Difficult task for Verstappen: 'Mercedes has a advantage at this circuit'

Max Verstappen hopes to win his first world title at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Dutchman will not have an easy time of it though, because Mercedes showed in recent races that they have an excellent form. Jarno Zaffelli also thinks that the challenge is great.
The track designer knows better than anyone where the opportunities on the track lie this weekend. Where Red Bull Racing took the win last year, it looks to be more difficult this year. Last season Hamilton was already world champion and the Briton returned from absence after contracting the coronavirus.
This weekend Hamilton is at full strength and seems to have the advantage with his car, Zaffelli judged in an interview with De Telegraaf. "If we look at the last races, I do think that Mercedes has a slight advantage at this circuit. Max will have to be the best Max of the year and he will have to have the best car of the season."
Verstappen and Hamilton keep each other in balance
The first day of the race provided little clarity on the balance of power. Verstappen managed to win the first free practice, while Hamilton was fastest a few hours later. On Saturday the third free practice and qualifying sessions are scheduled.
