'How can a brand like Mercedes let Wolff have his way in this way?'

Dutch TV commentator Olav Mol is not satisfied with Mercedes and team owner Toto Wolff. The Ziggo-commentator doesn't understand why Mercedes lets the team owner do what he likes. Mol calls the protests of the team after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix beneath contempt.
Mol scathing about Mercedes
The final part of the race in Abu Dhabi was crazy. Lewis Hamilton led virtually the entire race but was overtaken on the last lap by Max Verstappen who took incredible advantage of the safety car situation that had just occurred. It resulted in some moving images from the garage side of Max Verstappen. On the other hand, it resulted in a lot of criticism from Mercedes.
At Humberto on RTL4 Mol discusses the images of Max and Jos Verstappen; father and son who finally complete their life's work. The commentator contrasts this with the angry outburst from Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and the protests that the team lodged with the race committee.
Wolff's behaviour not worthy of Mercedes
Mol is unrelenting in his judgement of Wolff and the team. He warns beforehand that he won't make any friends with his statement and says: "I think it's beneath contempt how a big brand like Mercedes allows Toto Wolff to do things in this way." Mol calls it not classy how Mercedes deals with the loss.
The Dutchman even took the trouble to send a message to the team. Mol urges Mercedes not to continue to challenge the decision of the race committee. Mol: "Then I think: 'Be dignified'. You are a great champion and then you don't have to lower yourself to this kind of nonsense." Mol doesn't think it's appropriate how Wolff addressed the race committee 'like a crying child'.
