Prost sees big change in Formula 1: 'Partly thanks to Verstappen'

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen showed spectacle in Formula 1 this season. Alain Prost enjoyed the very high level that both drivers reached throughout the race year and revealed in conversation with Canal+ that he has a great respect for them.
In the interview, Prost looks back to the 80's and 90's when he was a Formula 1 fan himself. According to the former driver the drivers back then had the guts to put some risk in the Grands Prix, but nowadays that is a different story. Hamilton and Verstappen, however, are bringing this guts back to Formula 1, Prost said.
"We had two exceptional drivers this season in different teams who were very different in their mentality, character and style," he looks back. "And it was wonderful. Formula 1 has brought in the younger generation, partly thanks to Max. This was perhaps the best season ever."
Tension of this season between Verstappen and Hamilton unusual
Hamilton and Verstappen were exactly level on points before the race in Abu Dhabi. The last time that happened was in 1974 when Emerson Fittipaldi and Clay Regazzoni did the same. It proves that the excitement of this season is unusual.
