Ricciardo not jealous of Verstappen: 'Book is closed'

It's almost forgotten because in the meantime we are three teammates further. Nevertheless, for years Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo formed a dream couple at Red Bull. The Australian also spoke openly about his ultimate dream: conquering the world title. But since his departure to Renault and now McLaren, the World Championship seems to be a pipe dream.
In bed
It's easy to imagine Ricciardo sometimes lying in bed at night thinking, 'What if I'd just stayed at Red Bull? Would I be competing for the championship now?' The American version of ESPN The American version of the newspaper put the same question to Ricciardo in the run-up to the Abu Dhabi race. The response was that he has no regrets. "Once I closed the book with Red Bull I really tried to put all my energy into the next part. I really didn't have any over-hanging, like, what could've, what should've." Ricciardo said.
The Australian cites a quote from his father. Back in the day, when Daniel was little, he told him that looking back too far gives you a sore neck. Ricciardo continued: "It's true, once you make a decision and once you make a decision you thought long and hard about, I think it's important that you move forward with that."
Very happy
Ricciardo won the race at Monza this season. For him, the highlight of the season, while Max Verstappen eventually claimed the world title. "Looking at Max this year, I 100 percent don't feel any envy, jealousy or weirdness to him or the team. Weirdly enough, I'd be very, very happy for them", said Ricciardo, who at the time of the interview did not know how the title fight would end.
