Kimi Raikkonen said goodbye to Formula 1 after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to mark the end of 20 years in the sport, barring a slight gap in the middle. The Finnish driver says in conversation with Welt.de that he is proud of his career. However, he still has no plans for the future.
The former driver of Sauber, McLaren, Ferrari, Lotus and Alfa Romeo has had a long career, so he is happy to take a break. In the coming months he will focus on his family and enjoy his spare time. He does not yet know what he will do in the future, he says in the interview.
"I really don't know yet, honestly," he reveals. "I really don't have any plans yet. If there's something interesting, then maybe I'll do something. But if nothing comes up, maybe I'll just take care of my son's go-kart, if that's what he wants. I will definitely continue motocross for fun, because I have my own team as well."
New team at Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo will start the season in 2022 with an entirely new team. With Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou, the racing stable hopes to have brought in a duo that will ensure success in the coming years.
