'Verstappen and Hamilton had about the same level of performance'

This Formula 1 season has been crazy and it's been hard to pinpoint a clear favourite. Red Bull Racing and Mercedes have both been good on certain days and that's why Marc Priestley says this championship has been great.
The two top teams alternated throughout the season. One weekend Mercedes was the clear favourite and vice versa, but both teams had the occasional surprise. Max Verstappen's victory in the United States, for example, was a big surprise, and Lewis Hamilton's rocket engine in Brazil led to some confused faces.
At the beginning of the season, it seemed that Verstappen was dominant, but the German team did not stop developing the car. In the final stages of the season, they were suddenly stronger. Choosing the strongest or best car is therefore impossible, says Priestley in The new F1 Live video on his YouTube channel: "There’s nothing between those two. The beauty was that they were so different to each other with such different characteristics and such different strengths and weaknesses. "
'That's what makes the championship great'
Meanwhile, the difference between the two drivers was also too great to make a clear choice. The Dutchman was dominant on some days, but the next race could be completely different. That's exactly what the fans and teams wanted, and that's what makes the sport so great, according to the 45-year-old Brit: "A mixture of cars that have similar levels of performance, but on different days one might be stronger than the other and vice versa on another day. Great championship for that very reason in my book."
