Hamilton's brother understands: 'I don't blame him'

Lewis Hamilton is still suffering from the defeat he suffered two weeks ago. The Briton hasn't appeared in the media yet and even decided to unfollow people on social media. According to Nicolas Hamilton, the brother of the seven-time world champion, the Mercedes driver is doing well.
Hamilton seemed to be on his way to victory during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but he failed. Partly due to a decision by race control, Max Verstappen was given the opportunity to overtake his rival, which he eventually did. The result of the weekend was that Hamilton had to settle for the silver medal.
It was the reason for Hamilton not to let us hear from him after the GP and to take time for himself. He didn't mince words on social media either, but according to his brother the situation isn't too bad. "I think he is just having a bit of a social media break, which I don't blame him for," he stated at streaming platform Twitch, quoted by The Daily Mail. "Social media can be a very toxic place. But he's cool though. He's fine."
Hamilton reportedly thinks about quitting
Behind the scenes, however, the question remains whether Hamilton will still be with Mercedes next season. According to team boss Toto Wolff, the driver is hesitant to continue. George Russell joins Mercedes at the start of the season.
