Williams pulls in over 35 million dollars after lawsuit win

Williams is having a great start to 2022. The team has won the lawsuit against their former sponsor. It earns them $35.7 million.
The partnership between ROKiT and Williams began in 2019. The American telecommunications company was announced as the team's title sponsor on a three-year contract. The deal was already extended in the first season, which means the company would actually remain title sponsor until the end of 2023.
Before the start of the 2020 season, the two parted ways. Williams removed ROKiT's logos from their cars because the company never transferred the promised amount of money. Two years later, Williams is finally receiving their money, reports Motorsportweek.com.
Two lawsuits
Williams already started a lawsuit against ROKiT last year, because the company did not fulfill their obligations. The team was vindicated by the judge, but money was not forthcoming from ROKiT. Therefore Williams filed another lawsuit in America, in which they have now been proven right again. According to the judge, ROKiT "unequivocally" promised to pay the team in full.
