Nyck de Vries had a reasonable second free practice session of the ePrix of Saudi Arabia. The Dutchman set the eighteenth fastest time and is therefore looking for confidence heading into qualifying later this day.

As reigning World Champion, a lot of pressure is on De Vries' shoulders. In his Mercedes, however, he experienced a disappointing day on Thursday. The driver hoped to impress immediately in the first free practice, but ended up with his car against the wall. It resulted in him not being able to continue.

De Vries didn't give up though, because on Friday afternoon he started a new training session full of confidence. The Dutchman was able to drive the entire free practice and managed to collect important data for his team. Mercedes hopes to benefit from this in qualifying.

De Vries prepares for qualification

His compatriot Robin Frijns finished fifth on the grid. Oliver Rowland, Sam Bird and Jake Dennis conquered the first three places successively. Qualifying is scheduled at 12:40 PM, followed by the race at 5 PM.
