'Red Bull and Honda remain intensely linked in future'
- GPblog.com
Honda will still remain closely associated with Red Bull Racing in the coming years, De Telegraaf reports based on multiple sources. The Japanese engine supplier will reportedly continue to supply Red Bull with new engines through 2025.
The Japanese announced last year that they would leave Formula 1 at the end of 2021. Honda did agree with the Austrian team that it would provide support for the coming season, after which the team would be able to make its own engines in 2023.
Behind the scenes, however, the talks between the two parties did not stop there, as Honda and Red Bull are still talking about further cooperation. They are reportedly at an advanced stage to continue working together until 2025. After that year, the new engine regulations are around the corner and Red Bull would still have to stand on its own two feet.
Honda name possibly returns on car
Should the partnership continue, there is a good chance that the Honda name will appear on the cars of Verstappen and Sergio Perez. However, the medium does not expect the name 'Red Bull Racing-Honda' to return this year. It is expected that it will not be long before both parties come out with the news.
