'Red Bull has no launch date yet because RB18 didn't pass crash test'
- GPblog.com
A large part of the Formula 1 teams have already announced the presentation date of the new car for 2022. Red Bull Racing is so far the big absentee: the Austrian racing team is the only top team that has not yet announced a date. According to rumours, this has everything to do with the crash test, which the RB18 would not have passed.
The only teams that have not yet announced a presentation date are Alfa Romeo, Haas, Williams and Red Bull Racing. Red Bull's failure to announce a date has everything to do with the crash test, which the RB18 would not have passed.
Red Bull reportedly not passed crash test
The Italian branch of Motorsport.com reports that the new Red Bull car didn't survive the frontal crash test. This would have delayed the Austrian racing team's plans, but Adrian Newey and his engineers are reportedly not worried.
Recently there have been reports that the RB18 is already faster than the RB16B, at least in the simulator. This sparked rumours that master designer Newey has delivered another engineering feat with a car that would have an extreme ground effect, reducing drag.
