Formula 1 shares special Formula 1 livery for Chinese New Year
- GPblog.com
Today is the Lunar New Year, also known as the Chinese New Year, and Formula 1 is therefore presenting a special livery.
The Lunar New Year is the beginning of the new lunar calendar year. It is celebrated in several Asian countries, for example China, Korea and Japan. It is an event that has a long cultural history, and a lot of symbolism referring to that history is used during the festivities.
Formula 1 has designed a special 2022 livery for the Chinese New Year. The car is red, as that is considered a lucky colour. The wheel covers and side of the car feature drawings, for example of the Chinese wall.
Grand Prix of China
Since 2004, there has also been a Grand Prix of China. This race is always held at the Shanghai International Circuit. In 2020 and 2021 the race had to be cancelled due to the pandemic and in 2022 Formula 1 will also not travel to China. However, the contract with the race track has been extended, namely until 2025.
Who'd like to see some more angles?!
