Stroll remains patient with Aston Martin: "It's a long term vision"
Lance Stroll has emphasised Aston Martin's five-year plan to reach the top of Formula 1. On the day Aston Martin launched their 2022 Formula 1 car, the AMR22, Stroll looks forward to getting back into the car next month in Bahrain.
Heading towards 2022
Stroll's teammate Sebastian Vettel said the team will run a shakedown before winter testing later in February. Stroll, who will take part in his sixth Formula 1 season, looks ahead to 2022, though perhaps isn't expecting a miracle from the team with the new regulations.
"I think it's an exciting time for F1, an opportunity for all the teams with these new regulations. For us, we have to remember it's a long term vision. It's about the future. At this stage, we have to get out there and learn about it. It'll be so different to what we have been doing," Stroll said during the car launch.
After a short stay at Williams, Stroll will start his fourth season at Aston Martin. Prior to his father's takeover, the team was known as Racing Point. The Canadian driver sees the growth in the team during his stay.
"It's been amazing, we've grown so much as a team since I first started. Aston Martin has bought so much excitement to the brand. It helps us to grow on the track. A lot of talented people. The car looks amazing in green. It's so exciting to see so many talented people come on board as we are in the process of growng," he added.
