Marko is very worried: 'It was actually unimaginable'

Helmut Marko is shocked by Russia's attack on Ukraine. The Red Bull Racing advisor tells in conversation with the German RTL that he never saw such a scenario coming.
The current situation in Ukraine, among others, caused much discussion in Formula 1 this week. The FIA finally decided to call off the Russian Grand Prix, but for the time being did not find it necessary to send Nikita Mazepin away. The Russian is only not allowed to drive with the Russian flag behind his name in the coming period.
Marko is still puzzled by the current situation. "The border with Ukraine is only about 450 kilometers from Austria. It was actually unimaginable that something like this could happen," he let us know. "And then when you see the brutality with which they proceed and the threatening gestures, it's very frightening."
Marko believes in new Red Bull car
Behind the scenes, Marko and Red Bull are busy preparing for the new season. During the test days in Barcelona, it seemed that Ferrari is, for the time being, further along than the team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. However, Marko stated in an earlier interview that this seems exclusively so, but that his team will appear strong in Bahrain.
