Mercedes wants to do everything it can to stand with the world title at the end of 2022. For that, a lot is still needed, as Mike Elliott also knows. The technical director of Mercedes understands well that there is still plenty of work to be done.

While the German racing team has been the absolute top team in Formula 1 in recent years, that may change in 2022. Due to the new regulations, Mercedes will also have to deal with a completely different car, making it hard work for the team to keep up with the competition.

During the test days in Barcelona it was already clear that Red Bull Racing, Ferrari and McLaren were the better on several parts. Despite this, Elliott has few worries about the coming months. "The reality is the cars will evolve a lot between now and race one and you will see different solutions come along," he revealed to the official website of Formula 1.

Mercedes wants revenge for 2021

The German formation hopes to be able to compete for prizes again next season with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. Last year Hamilton was defeated by Max Verstappen who won the last Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.
