Expectations for Red Bull high: 'Kept the most hidden'
- GPblog.com
The Formula 1 teams had their first opportunity to prepare for the new season last week during the test days in Barcelona. While Red Bull Racing did reasonably well, Jolyon Palmer expects the Austrian racing team to have more to offer.
With Max Verstappen, the team succeeded in taking the world championship last calendar year. The formation hopes to achieve at least the same level in the coming season, but does not have it easy. Because of the new regulations Red Bull still has to take many steps to fight for the world title again.
Red Bull possibly comes with surprise
In Barcelona, mainly Ferrari and McLaren made a good impression. Although Red Bull lagged somewhat behind the competition, Palmer does not think that the Austrians are dropping out already. According to the racing driver, the team of Verstappen and Sergio Perez still has enough on the shelf to thwart the competition in the coming weeks.
"The team seem to be in a decent position overall, even if they acknowledge there is plenty more to do with the car," Palmer analyzed on the official website of Formula 1. "But as yet, I’d say they’ve maybe kept the most hidden of any teams – so they will be well worth watching in Bahrain."
