Leclerc sees Red Bull developing: 'Great update'
- GPblog.com
Ferrari could be very satisfied after the test days in Bahrain. The Italian racing team saw the new car perform excellently and thus seems a possible candidate for the world title. Charles Leclerc, however, is still keeping an open mind.
Where the Italians had to give way to Mercedes and Red Bull last season, Ferrari is making a good impression for the time being. The car of Leclerc and Carlos Sainz looks solid and performs well in almost all areas, making the team one of the favorites to take victory in Bahrain.
Leclerc points out in conversation with Speedweek.com: "Red Bull Racing brought a great update on the last day, Mercedes showed a car for the second test that was so rebuilt it looked like a new car. I think we haven't seen their potential yet."
Ferrari wants to continue with Sainz for longer
Meanwhile, Ferrari is working behind the scenes on the future of the team. For example, Mattia Binotto indicated this weekend that there is a significant chance that Sainz will sign a new contract at the racing stable. Thus, although his contract expires at the end of the season, a longer collaboration seems to be in the offing.
