Former F1 driver Timo Glock looked surprised to see Red Bull Racing 's two cars break down in Bahrain. With a few laps to go, both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez crashed out with technical problems.
Glock writes in his column on the German branch of Sky Sports that he was surprised by the double failure. "During the tests everything went almost flawlessly, therefore, Red Bull should also be surprised by the problems," says the German.
Verstappen expected at front
After testing, Glock had expected Verstappen to be at the front of the field with Red Bull, but a different outcome came out in qualifying. Charles Leclerc took pole position and had to battle it out with Verstappen at the Grand Prix on Sunday. "It was impressive to see how Leclerc behaved in the fight with Verstappen," Glock said of the battle for the first win of 2022.
Leclerc was overtaken by Verstappen up to three times, but managed to catch the Dutchman back in turn four each time to maintain the lead. Glock therefore believes that the Monegasque was the deserved winner.
