Max Verstappen achieved his big goal last season by winning the world title. Not only did it bring joy and relief to himself, Brad Scanes also enjoyed the party that erupted afterwards.

Verstappen's performance coach has now been helping the Dutchman get as much out of himself as possible for several years. When the two met for the first time at the end of 2019, they talked extensively about the road needed to win the World Championship.

World title for Verstappen in Abu Dhabi

Scanes worked hard with Verstappen in 2020 to achieve this goal. Although it proved almost impossible to compete with Lewis Hamilton that year, Verstappen still managed to compete for the world title a year later. In the final race in Abu Dhabi, he then pulled off the victory.

Scanes enjoyed Abu Dhabi, as he explains in an interview with Verstappen.com. "It's fantastic!" he emphasizes. "Not only for Max, the team and myself. It's a goal he wanted to achieve with his family since he was a little kid. It was a special day."
