Hamilton looking for solutions: 'Understand what issue is'

Lewis Hamilton has invariably been competing for the world title in recent years, but this season is different for the time being. Due to Mercedes' problems, the team is in third place on pace, behind Ferrari and Red Bull Racing. The seven-time world champion hopes that this will change soon, he told Sky Sports and others during the press conference.
During the test days it already appeared that Mercedes was still searching for the right balance, which made the team fear that it would have a difficult start of the season. That proved to be true as well, although in the opening race in Bahrain the team had little to complain about. Hamilton and George Russell finished third and fourth, however, that was largely due to the retirement of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
Hamilton happy with Mercedes team
Ahead of the second race weekend in Bahrain, Hamilton is hoping that things will work out for him once again. The number two from last season thinks Mercedes can make rapid progress, although he realizes that Ferrari and Red Bull are way ahead for now. However, it doesn't mean he's going to sit by and watch.
"Very proud of my team for just keeping their heads down and staying focused churning through the crazy amount of data from the race in the car," he revealed in the interview. "I’m just trying to understand what the issue is."
