Ferrari is the favourite to run away with victory at this weekend's Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. However, Carlos Sainz believes that Red Bull Racing is a rival that should not be underestimated, he told the Spanish AS in the press conference.
The Italian racing team made an excellent impression just last week, with Charles Leclerc and Sainz taking first and second place respectively. This puts the team proudly at the top of the world championship and expectations towards Saudi Arabia are high.
Sainz saw faster Red Bull in Bahrain
Sainz looked at the data extensively in recent days and saw clearly that the speed of the RB18 in Bahrain was quick. Indeed, Ferrari was losing out to Red Bull's car a week ago, which had two retirementswith Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at the end of the race.
"Red Bull had more top speed than us and nobody is talking about the Honda engine," Sainz noted when talking to the press present. "It seems that the Ferrari engine is top, but Red Bull was five kilometers per hour ahead of us. You have to talk about others, not just Ferrari."
