Sainz dissatisfied with own performance: 'I have more trouble with that'

Carlos Sainz has the chance to fight for the world championship with Ferrari this year. When the Spaniard announced in 2020 that he would drive for the Italian team in 2021, that seemed a far-fetched dream. However, due to the new rules, Ferrari is head and shoulders in the lead of both championships.
Although Sainz is finally driving an F1 car capable of winning Grands Prix, after two races he clearly has to acknowledge his inferiority to his teammate, Charles Leclerc. Whereas the Monegasque has a first and second place to his name after two races, Sainz has had to make do with a second and third place.
Sainz not yet satisfied with own performance
In Saudi Arabia, however, Sainz managed to make a step in his own developments, to grow into a candidate for the title this season, he explained at Motorsportweek. The fact that F1 was at the same circuit just a few months earlier was the deciding factor, according to him.
"After 100 days I come back and in corners where last year I was very strong this year I seem to be struggling quite a bit more. I am not driving the car the way it should be driven together with the car is not giving me exactly the feeling I need for my driving." According to Sainz, it is important for him to find that combination in order to challenge Leclerc and Max Verstappen for the world title.
