Red Bull intensifies cooperation with team-Verstappen within the team

Gianpiero Lambiase, the race engineer and confidant of Max Verstappen at Red Bull Racing, is going to take over a large part of the duties of another well-known name at Red Bull. Indeed, Guillaume Rocquelin is stepping down as Head of Race Engineering.
The personal race engineer of Verstappen who has worked with the Dutchman since his first race for Red Bull in 2016 is going to have more responsibility in the team. Rocquelin will stop after the upcoming race in Australia as Head of Race Engineering, reports The Telegraph. Lambiase will remain Verstappen's permanent engineer but will take over some of the Frenchman's duties. With this promotion, Lambiase will have more control over the entire team and will no longer be solely concerned with Verstappen's side of the garage.
Verstappen and Lambiase are, by their own admission, two hands in one. After winning the world title in 2021, Verstappen said he would stop racing if Lambiase stopped working as a permanent race engineer. So the fact that Verstappen has extended his contract until 2028 also means for Lambiase that he is good to go for several more years with the team. Besides Lambiase, performance engineer Tom Hart and trackside control engineer Michael Manning are also permanent members of team Verstappen within Red Bull. The fact that Lambiase is now being promoted says a lot about his status within the team.
