Second red flag after hydraulic problems Alonso
- GPblog.com
With seven minutes left in Q3 during qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso hit the wall. The Alpine driver was on a fast lap and looked to be making his way to the front after a purple second sector, but the two-time world champion failed to make it across start-finish.
Alonso was off to an incredibly good start, but as in Saudi Arabia, it was again the technology that let him down. The Spaniard stated over the on-board radio that the hydraulics failed. The downshift was thus affected and his adventure ended in the wall.
