FIA gives Stroll grid penalty without consequences
The drivers collided in Q1 after Stroll steered into Latifi, which he failed to see. Both drivers were on a warm-up lap and had already swapped positions a few times. However, when Latifi tried to overtake Stroll again things went wrong as Stroll was not paying attention and steered into the Williams driver.
With his action, Stroll caused a big crash in which not he, but Latifi crashed into the wall. Subsequently, the session was stopped for a while by a red flag. The FIA has decided that a grid penalty of three places and two penalty points on his license are sufficient as punishment. Stroll will not feel the pain of this penalty, as he would have started last anyway.
