Stoffel Vandoorne has taken the pole position for the Formula E race in Rome. The final played out between him and Robin Frijns, who will start second. Nyck de Vries did not make it to the final, but is in good shape with a third starting position.
Vandoorne on pole ahead of Frijns and De Vries
It looked early on that it was going to be a duel between Vandoorne and Frijns. The two set exactly the same time in the opening laps, after which both advanced to the quarter-finals. From there, they steamed on to the semi-finals, where Frijns took on Nyck de Vries.
De Vries lost out to his compatriot in the semifinals, but was faster than Da Costa. With that, the Dutchman secured the third time. The final played out as expected between Vandoorne and Frijns, with the Belgian coming out on top.
